Full Shipment of Supplies, Plus Two Shipments of Water to Summerville, GA, And More Water sent to Jackson, MS
Wednesday afternoon, September 7th, a 53’ trailer full of family food boxes, personal care boxes, infant care boxes, cleaning supply buckets, along with pallets of water, and new clothing, was unloaded at the West 5th Street Church of Christ in Summerville, GA due to flash flooding in Chattooga County, Georgia. The flooding in the area also knocked out the power going to water pumps at the water treatment plant that distributes water to about 8,000 households, so Friday morning September 9th we delivered a full trailer of bottled water to the same congregation, and later that afternoon, we provided a second shipment of water along with more food boxes and cleaning supplies.
Thursday afternoon Sept 8th a full trailer of drinking water was unloaded at the Hanging Moss Church of Christ in Jackson, MS.
Yesterday afternoon, Thursday the 14th, another trailer of water was unloaded at the Parkview Church of Christ in Jackson, MS.
After nearly 7 weeks of a boil water advisory for Jackson, yesterday afternoon the boil water advisory was lifted, but State Health officials were still recommending that city tap water not be used to prepare infant formula, due to the high content of Copper and lead in the city water.
Thank you for your support as we do what we can to help these communities.
