Drinking Water Sent to Jackson, Mississippi
Monday evening the Pearl River, in Jackson, MIssissippi, crested, but the flooding was limited to about a dozen homes. The cities water treatment plant was already having issues before this flood, and the flooding disabled the water treatment plant. This afternoon the Mayor stated they hoped to have their water system repaired by the end of the week.
Since they had no drinking water, two Church of Christ congregations in the Capital City of Mississippi requested shipments of water yesterday. Today, in the early afternoon, two 53’ trailers of drinking water were unloaded by members of these congregations.
One 53’ trailer carrying 18 pallets of bottled drinking water was unloaded at the Williamson Avenue Church of Christ, and the second trailer full 18 pallets went to the Timberlawn Road Church of Christ.
We are standing by, ready to send additional supplies as needed.
