Two Shipments In Route to New Orleans Area after Hurricane Ida!

Late this morning we got word to send the first two shipments of supplies for the Hurricane survivors in Louisiana. The first shipment left about 3:30pm for the LaPlace Church of Christ, and will be unloaded during daylight tomorrow. New Orleans shuts down at dusk, and we were informed that looting is very bad in areas of New Orleans after dark. Our drivers have been told they do not want to go into the area by themselves even during daylight, so our first driver will stop and pick up a law enforcement officer that will ride it with him.

The second shipment of supplies will leave Nashville about 6pm, and is going to the Gibson Church of Christ in Gibson, LA. It will be unloaded by there members tomorrow. We will have an escort into Gibson also.

We expect additional locations to request more supplies in the next 24 to 36 hours. Today we have a request for another trailer of supplies, but they do not want it to arrive until Saturday morning, so we will post more later in the week about that shipment and other areas we are going to.
