Truckload of Supplies Sent to Help Victims in Andover, KS

This morning a 53’ Semi-trailer full of supplies was unloaded at the East Point Church of Christ in Wichita, KS, to help those affected by the EF-3 tornado that hit Andover Friday evening, April 29th. The area in Andover is still shutoff from people,, as they evaluate the damages. This tornado was on the ground 21 minutes, and left a path of destruction for 12..75 miles, luckily there were no deaths. The East Point building is only a few miles from Andover, and they have worked with Disaster Relief Effort many times over the years when tornadoes hit Wichita, and Greensburg,

The last big tornado that hit Andover hit on April 26th, 1991 when an EF-5 tornado hit Wichita and Andover. Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort had just begun this work, and we sent our second shipment of supplies to Andover, 31 years ago. The Lord has blessed us to be able to continue this work so that we can help others in their time of need, with the ultimate goal of bringing them to Christ. With the help of the Lord’s church and it’s members, we are able to send supplies of food, new clothing, personal hygiene, infant care, water, and cleaning supplies, all of the basic supplies a family might need after a disaster, and then once clean-up and rebuilding is completed, we can help uninsured, low-income families with some of the household items they might not be able to afford otherwise. We will replace some of the items that were lost due to the disaster…. with a new appliance or two, new mattress sets and bed frames, a new room of furniture, and maybe replace their water heater. While the help is given, the members of a local church is building a relationship with the families, getting to know them, and invite them to come worship with them, come to Bible Studies. May God receive ALL the glory!
