Second Truckload of Water to Marion, KY

Yesterday morning, (July 21) a second 53’ semi-trailer full of water was unloaded at the Marion Church of Christ in Marion, KY by local church members, members from Mayfield congregations, and also with help from the Crittendon County High School Golf Team.

This shipment was 252 cases of (6 each) 1 gallon bottles of water (1,512 gallon bottles) and 405 cases of (30 each) 20oz bottles (12,150 20oz bottles). We have also provided additional cleaning cloths for families to use to clean up.

The county rural water department has repaired over a dozen water leaks, and has reduced the daily water loss from 230 gallons per minute on July 5th, down to 68 gallons per minute. The county now has their water supply up to 180,000 gallons per day, which is 60% of their daily need, but they are still under water use restrictions and a water boil order.

We pray that they can get their water issues resolved soon, and can find local resources that can provide enough water to support the daily needs of the 3,000 people that are on the city water supply in Marion while repairs are in process.
