Shipment of Supplies Delivered for Mississippi Tornado Suvivors

Tuesday afternoon a tornado struck the Tishomingo, MS area. Ken Lowry, our Associate Director was in contact with area congregations that evening, and they requested a truckload of supplies for delivery at 9am the next morning. The trailer of supplies was ready to roll. The Tishomongo church of Christ and the Liberty church of Christ in Dennis,MS, just south of Tishomingo were going to work together to help the areas hit. Late Tuesday evening our driver left our Nashville warehouse and was there in the church parking lot at 3am resting until the members got their to unload the trailer.

Because of the awareness of the Covid-19 virus, the church wanted to do what they could to prevent the spread of the virus, and came up with a creative way to talk with those in need. They had those in need stay in their vehicles, and form a line in front of the building. The members were divided into teams, some spoke with the families to determine their needs, and once the family needs were established, another group gathered what the people requested.  That family would move their vehicle to another part of the parking lot, and other members loaded the supplies into the vehicle.  The families could get what they needed, but stay away from others!

We thank the congregations in the Tishomingo / Dennis area for helping their neighbors in need, may God get all the glory!

Please pray for those in Mississippi, and for our country and the world as we try to battle this virus.
