First Two Shipments to Depart for Florida on Friday Morning, Sept 30

Two congregations in Florida reached out to us this evening, and are requesting shipments of supplies. The damages in Fort Myers are severe, our contact with the Gulf Coast Church of Christ is telling us 150,000 homes are now uninhabitable in the Fort Myers area, with 17 deaths reported so far.

Tomorrow morning the first shipment of supplies will depart our Nashville warehouse for Saturday morning delivery at the Gulf Coast Church of Christ in Fort Myers. Since the damages are extreme in Fort Myers, a second shipment of supplies will leave Nashville about 10am, also headed to the Gulf Coast church building, to be unloaded Saturday afternoon.

We also have received a request for a shipment for the Cape Coral Church of Christ, in Cape Coral, FL, to be delivered Tuesday morning, meaning it will depart Nashville Monday.

If you live in the Nashville, TN area, and are available Monday morning at from 10 to about 1pm, we are looking for area volunteers to be at our warehouse at 10am Monday, to help pack 1,500 family food boxes. This usually takes 1.5 - 2 hours to complete, then we will feed you lunch, and you’re free to go. We know it is Fall break week for many, but please no children under 16 can be working at our warehouse due to insurance restrictions.

Please be praying for those in Florida already hit by Hurricane Ian, and those that may be in its path as it appears to be heading for the Carolina’s. We also thank your for your prayers and support for this work.
