Two Trailers of Supplies to Port Author, TX
This morning about 230 volunteers packed 1,500 family food boxes at our warehouse at 410 Allied Drive in Nashville, so we can continue to fill requests from congregations in Southeast Texas after Tropical Storm Imelda. Imelda dropped some 40 inches of rain on Southeast Texas. The volunteers packed those 1,500 family food boxes in 1 hour 40 minutes!
This afternoon a little after 3pm a trailer of supplies departed for the Park Central church of Christ in Port Arthur and will be unloaded by the members of Park Central tomorrow, late afternoon or early evening. Park Central will be helping those in need in the Port Arthur area.
About 6pm tonight another trailer will be pulling away for the Thomas Boulevard church of Christ in Port Arthur. Thomas Blvd will be helping those southeast of Beaumont and also those in the Winnie, TX area. It should arrive tomorrow evening also. We are also working on getting additional shipments out now and are waiting for the word from other congregations in the flood areas to send supplies.
Thank you for your prayers and support of this work. Please be praying for those in the Texas flood areas.
