Two Shipments of Supplies Sent to Help Flood Survivors in Iowa.
Heavy rains fell on Eastern Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota last week. Up to 18” of rain were reported causing rivers to rise. Many were rescued by boat, and lives were lost by several attempting to drive through the flooded communities.
Yesterday morning a shipment of supplies was unloaded at a building near the City office in Rock Valley, Iowa, to be used as a distribution center. A Church of Christ does not meet in Rock Valley, but members of the Church of Christ in Sioux Center wanted to help, so they are overseeing the supply distribution.
This morning, a second truckload of supplies was unloaded at a building in Spencer, Iowa, that members of the Spencer Church of Christ were working at, helping the flood victime in their area.
We know of additional flooded areas and we have also been in touch with the wildfire areas in Ruidoso, New Mexico. The evacuation order has been lifted in New Mexico, and we are waiting for the word from several congregation we’ve spoken with, when they are ready to start helping their communities. When it happens, we will post it here!
Be praying for all of the families that have been displaced from their homes over the last couple of weeks.
