Supplies Going to Los Angeles County Wildfire Survivors

We have all heard of more than 30,000 people that have had to evacuate their homes due to several wildfires burning in highly populate Los Angeles County, California. You are seeing many interviews of sports and movie stars being that live in the area, but Los Angeles county is home to over 9.6 Million people, and a very diverse area, with many middle and low income families. One thing different in a fire, we can’t rush into an area until we know it is safe, plus often after a wildfire, families whose homes burned, are no longer in the area, they have left to live with friends and family in other locations. Secondly, we must find an area no longer threatened by the fire, and an area where those in need can safely get to the location to pick up the supplies. Sometimes, it takes several days for these things to be in place, so that we can now send a truckload of supplies there.

This afternoon a truckload full of supplies will depart our warehouse in Nashville, headed to unload Sunday, after morning worship, at the church building for the Church of Christ in La Puente, California.

A second truckload of supplies also departed Thursday afternoon for delivery Sunday after morning worship at the Baldwin Park Church of Christ, in Baldwin Park, California.

We are standing by waiting for additional calls from other congregations in the areas hit by the fires. We appreciate the congregations wanting to help the families in need in their areas.

We will update this website if and when we send more supplies to that area in California. Please pray for the families who have lost their earthly possessions due to these fires, and for the families of the 5 we know of that lost their lives. Also be praying for the volunteers that are helping these families, for all of the fire fighters that are working to put out these fires.

We thank you for your prayers and support for this work!
