Aid sent to Iowa
Tuesday evening 14 tornadoes were reported in Iowa. A deadly EF-3 tornado took the lives of 4 in the small community of Greenfield, and another woman was killed when a tornado blew her car off the road about 25 miles away from Greenfield. Many homes along with businesses were damaged or destroyed.
A 53’ trailer full of food, personal hygiene, water, infant care, cleaning supplies, pillows, sheet sets, and blankets, mops, brooms, rakes , shovels, and wheelbarrows left our Nashville warehouse just before 4pm yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, May 23rd, for Greenfield. There is no Church of Christ that meets in Greenfield, but members of the Creston Church of Christ in Creston, Iowa, about 23 miles away, live in Greenfield, so the Creston church wanted to help the families in need in Greenfield. Our Associate Director Dennis McClintock spoke to the city officials and they give us the okay to use the Nodaway Valley High School there in Greenfield, as a place where we could unload and distribute the items from. They were unloaded today at that High School, and the Creston church members are distributing them.
We are praying for the all families affected by the tornadoes in Iowa, and for those that lost loved ones. We appreciate you prayers and support!
