Truckload of Water Sent to New Orleans.

Plaquemine Parrish, Louisiana which is on the South side of New Orleans, is having fresh water issues. They get their water from the Mississippi River, that flows through New Orleans to the Mississippi Delta, and into the Gulf of Mexico. So a freshwater river is connected to saltwater. The freshwater flows downstream on top, while the saltwater flows upstream along the river bottom. Due to a lack of rain water running into the river, more saltwater is coming upstream than normal, causing a freshwater shortage.

Monday morning, Sept 18th, 18 pallets of bottled water were unloaded at two congregations in the New Orleans area. 6 pallets (504 cases) went to the Church of Christ of Greater New Orleans, in St Bernard, LA. The other 12 pallets went to the Louisa Street Church of Christ in New Orleans, 17 miles north. They will be responsible for the distribution in that area.

The corp of engineers is working on the problem.
